We understand that some dental procedures cost quite a bit of money, which is why we are happy to accept so many different forms of insurance! If you have United Concordia coverage through your employer, we hope you’ll take advantage of all that your benefits offer. Not only will your insurance help you get the preventive care you need at little to no cost, but it will also reduce your financial obligation for more extensive dental treatments.
How can you get the most out of your United Concordia dental insurance? Let us be your guide to maximizing your benefits.
When you signed up for dental insurance through your employer, you probably had to read through a bunch of paperwork that detailed the coverage available via different plans. Although every policy works a bit differently, most of them have the same basic guidelines. Here is a look at how your insurance may help you afford various dental procedures:
The above coverage estimates apply only if you visit an in-network dentist. If you go out of network and have a PPO plan, you can still use your benefits, but you may end up paying significantly more because out of network dentists have not predetermined the fees for specific services with United Concordia. It is also good to bear in mind that if you have a DHMO plan, you must visit an in-network or you will not be able to use your coverage at all.
PPO plans often come with a yearly maximum, which is the highest amount that your insurance company will pay out for treatment within a calendar year. Typically, this amount is around $1,000. If you are concerned that your dental work will exceed your yearly maximum, we may be able to help. For example, it might be possible to break up your treatment across multiple appointments in different calendar years so you can take advantage of two yearly maximums.
